These terms apply when you order from Root & Whisk, a maker of modern wooden kitchenware in Egypt. By placing an order on this website you agree to them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.
Orders
- After you place an order, we message you on WhatsApp to confirm the details and the delivery timing. Your order is confirmed once we have agreed these with you.
- Please give a phone number we can reach on WhatsApp and a complete delivery address. If we cannot reach you, we may have to cancel the order.
- If a piece is no longer available or a price was shown in error, we will tell you before anything is sent and you can choose to change or cancel the order at no cost.
Prices and payment
- Prices are in Egyptian pounds (EGP). The total, including any delivery fee, is shown at checkout before you place your order.
- You pay in cash when your order is delivered. We do not take card payments on this website.
Delivery
- We currently deliver within Cairo and Giza.
- The delivery fee is shown at checkout. Delivery is free on orders above the amount shown on our website and at checkout.
- We agree the delivery timing with you on WhatsApp. Please check your order when it arrives and tell us straight away if anything is damaged.
Cancelling an order
You can cancel free of charge before your order is sent out. Just message us on WhatsApp with your order number.
Returns if you change your mind
- You can return a piece within 14 days of receiving it, as long as it is unused and in its original condition and packaging.
- Message us first so we can arrange the return. The cost of delivering the piece back to us is paid by you.
- Once we receive the piece and check its condition, we refund the price you paid for it, within the time required by Egyptian consumer protection law.
Damaged or faulty pieces
- Damaged in delivery: contact us soon after receiving your order with photos of the product and packaging. We will arrange a replacement, exchange, refund or another fair solution, at no delivery cost to you.
- Manufacturing defects: if a defect affects function or safe use, send your order details with photos or video. Once confirmed, we offer a replacement, exchange, repair where practical, or a refund, at no delivery cost to you.
- Damage caused by use: misuse, drops, unsuitable heat or not following the care instructions may not qualify for a replacement or refund.
Natural wood
Every piece is made from natural wood. Small differences in grain, tone, knots and texture from the photos are part of the material and are not defects when they do not affect function or safety.
To keep your piece at its best, wash it by hand in warm, soapy water and dry it straight away. Keep it out of the dishwasher and long soaks, and rub in a little food-safe oil when it starts to look dry.
Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms reduces your rights under Egyptian law, including the Consumer Protection Law (Law No. 181 of 2018). These terms are governed by the laws of Egypt.
